Does not work after Burial at Sea 2 installation

After installing the second DLC, Burial at Sea 2, I immediately get an error message saying to delete Bioshock Infinite because it was now “damaged’ and reinstall. This took four hours (39 GB!). Looking forward to the game, I tried again to play it, but got the same error message. it’s not possible to give zero stars, which is what a game you can’t play deserves, (by the way, the main game and DLC 1 played great), so I gave it 1 star just to register my displeasure.

I’m sad it’s over

A truly beautiful game…runs great on my late ’13 MBP. It has a compelling, albeit mindbending story and excellent action. But what truly sets this game apart are the characters and the ability to get completely immersed in the environment. Though not a short game, I wish it was longer. If you liked the original Bioshock, you will enjoy this one. It shares many of the same gameplay elements, but borrows a little from other games. The combat has improved drastically…and that says a lot because it was pretty stellar in the original. I will be checking out the DLC soon. Prepare yourself for a 8+ hour download time...

I downloaded the game but

my downloadable content slot is greyed out as to be unavailable. While I did purchase the game to first play bioshock infinite I want to have access to burial at sea episode 1 and 2 as well. What are my solutions. When I open the game the DLC is greyed out.

Such a Good Game

When you install the game DO NOT pause ite it, the game won’t install again

Rather Amazing, minus download bugs.

Because of an error, I have had to redownload this - twice. An error occurs with the download, and it stops. These problems began after I played Burial at Sea: Episode 2. I could not even download it anymore, as it canceled after around 20GB each time. It eventually worked. Once the download completes, everything is fine though. =^.^=

Money well spent

OK, Ive seen reviews for-and-against. My 2c, I really liked this game. The visuals were stunning, the plot line was well thought out, and I think the ending was much better than the original BioShock. I think they could have explored the zip-lines a little more, but otherwise there were plenty of "side" attractions to keep the game interesting for a second play-through. If theres any one negative about this series its that you dont really want to play it a dozen times - the "newness" of the story is as much of the experience as actually playing it. I didnt try the 1999 mode but once I got good at the combat, battle scenes got a little repetitive. They did do a much better job at keeping you from falling back to the old "duck-and-cover" technique that almost all these games let you do - easy wins, but boring. Enemies are much more aggressive about coming to find you so you cant just rest and catch your breath, for example. But still, if you go into BioShock looking purely for combat itself, youre in the wrong game. So this ones a keeper. I might not play it every month, but Ill definitely dust it off once every year or so like I do with the original BioShock. Good times!

bioawesome

The story of bioshock continues to keep me entertained and thats all us gamers really want, to be entertained for hours shooting all kinds of creatures and bosses left and right. Great non stop run and gun shooter. I love the fact that I can plug my controller into this so it makes the game that much better. Wish that I could hold more weapons at once but the upgades for the weapons are awesome. Keep on killing it bioshock!

Worth the Money

Just completed the video game. I must say it was well worth the money and very satisfying. Great job!

MAC AIR AND BIOSHOCK

I have the 2013, mac air, with the core i7 and 8gb of ram, and i must say, this runs like a dream. Yes, i run it on low, but i still get atleast 26 frames per second, it is very smooth, it looks amazing as well, when i pump it to full high quality, it drops to about 17 or 18 frames, you could play it on high, because this computer, runs it like a dream, but also Aspyr just did a fantastic job at bringing this to the app store. Well done.

Amazing game

This game begins very simple, but develops into an amazing game overall. The story is complex, but fantastic and the city is stunning. The graphics are great on my iMac. The dlc is also very satisfying. I would reccomend this game for anyone. Great port for the iMac also!

Its a waste of money atleast for MBP 15” late 2013 higher end model

Buyers of this game for above mentioned macbook model beware! There is no support for this game on Aspyr Media support. Though they have suppport for macbook air, which is kind of funny. Why would you need support is becuase this game keeps your computer’s CPU proximity temperature at around 212 degrees which is going to fry everything including the keyboard if you play the game for long time. I got my computer checked from Apple and they say it is only because of this application. I am running other graphics heavy processor heavy games, but none can heat your computer like this one.

Amazing story

The story is what makes this an epic game. Fantastic writing, voice acting, and dialogue make this every bit as gripping as the most suspenseful page-turner.

good but newest macbook isn’t powerful enough to handle it

this is one of those next gen games, unfortunately unless you have a quadcore machine then the game might fry your motherboard. I downloaded an app that tells you the temperature of your laptop (macbook pro retina 2014 8gb ram i5 duo) and it told me the temperature of the machine was 185 degrees farenheight, just from starting the game. From the research I’ve done, minimal, after keeping the macbook pro on at this temperature for an extended period of time it can melt the motherboard, which is basically irreplaceable. Also, the fans don’t actually kick in until about 190 degrees. or 195. and then the machine will shut off on its own at that point. Anyways, looks like I won’t be doing anymore gaming on the macbook pro since i dont want to burn my $1600 that I paid for it. Other than that great game!

Game won’t start. Total dissapointment and a waste of money

I was incredibly excited to finally play the 3rd installment of Bioshock. But for some reason the game won’t launch, regardless of what I do. Don’t waste your money here, folks, or you’ll end up very frustrated like me. Apple seriously needs to sort this out because this is not acceptable.

Possibly my favorite game ever.

I’m obsessed with this game. I played it all the way through in just under one day. The only problem I had was in a final scene a character gliched out and I couldn’t move forward until I restarted the game, but other than that, it worked perfectly and never crashed. I highly recommend this game. The story was amazing and had me on the edge of my seat until the very end. Literally, I can’t say enough good things about this game.

Ending ruins the game

The ending to this game is pretty much impossible in my eyes. I know people have done it, but from my point of view, I’ve retried it multiple times on easy, even after reading several guides online for how to complete it, and I still can’t win. Worse, it takes me a while to die, and then I have to go all the way back and start over again. This just ruins what should have been a great game. Another major gripe is the lack of any ability to save the game. The only saves happen automatically when you get to certain points, which makes it difficult to pick up the game and play casually for 15-20 minutes. Still, the story and gameplay are interesting, as I would expect. But at the moment, I’m just so frustrated that I can’t appreciate that properly. This game is probably going to end up gathering cobwebs unfinished in a dusty corner of my hard drive. I’m a big fan of the BioShock series, but this one just didn’t live up to my expectations.

Will not start up for me.

Quits Unexpectedly before starting every time.

Hasn’t started yet

Was really looking forward to playing this game after all the hype, downloaded and installed 3 times and still won’t start… frustrated. Mid 2012 MBP Retina

What happened to my game?

I am attempting to redownload 41 gb, if it doesn’t work I hope Apple refunds my money or get a fix real quick. Looks like it doesn’t work!

Astonishingly More Beautiful Than My Console Version

I originally bought Bioshock Infinite during the summer following its release and I must say that I while I was a little dismayed at the relatively short campaign, the visuals and the overall story didn’t disappoint in the slightesest! The graphics were stunning, Elizabeth’s character was fanstically modeled in virtually every single way, and the developers found a way to reinvent the series while still remaining true to its EXTREMELY AWESOME roots! Suffice it to say I love the trilogy so much that I started looking into seeing if there was a way to get any, if not all, of the games on my Mid-2012 non-retina Macbook Pro 15 inch, and sure enough the App Store did NOT fail to deliever. While there were some issues with exceptionally long download times in addition to the strange memory incidents, I finally got the game downloaded and I must say it’s just as breathtaking, if not moreso, to behold. Furthermore, after playing around with the graphics settings a little, I was able to get Bioshock Infinite to the standard where I enjoy playing it on my mac just a tad more than my Xbox 360 and I’m a console gamer. Asphyr has done an amazing job porting Bioshock Infinite over to Mac, and I lookforward to seeing what else they have coming down the pipeline.
